  "VOLUNTEERS"- Various home game day positions available.

The Utica Blue Sox internship program gives college students who aspire to work in sports the opportunity to get hands on experience with all aspects of baseball organization. This program is open to students who are entering their sophomore, junior, senior or graduate years of study at a college or university.  An internship with the Blue Sox enables students to gain up close and personal experience that they would not get with a larger organization.  The descriptions below offer a general overview of the positions offered for our internship program, but we are currently accepting all applications for all areas of operation with the organization.   The Blue Sox season runs from June through the middle of August. Students MUST be able to receive college credit through their school for this internship.



Communications/Public Relations

     - Help run all Utica Blue Sox social media, including Facebook and Twitter, along with any other developing social media procedures

     - Write game previews/recaps, in addition to feature content for the webpage and other Utica Blue Sox publications

     - Track team statistics throughout the season

     - Compile and edit video footage for the Blue Sox webpage and Youtube channel

     - Various Game Day tasks as assigned

Gameday Operations

     - Assist in all preperation and events that lead up to and run through a game day

     - Oversee on field, in game promotions, giveaways and contests

     - Work closely with fan relations and customer service to ensure positive atmosphere for guests in attendance

     - Various Game Day tasks as assigned

Marketing/Community Relations

     - Helps to develop a marketing strategy for the Blue Sox throughout the summer season

     - Plan community visits to increase visibility and represent the organization throughout the community

     - Create theme nights to help generate more people coming into the ball park

     - Assist the Communications team with marketing through social media

     - Various Game Day tasks as assigned

Sports Management

     - Create viable leads for the sales staff to assist them in bringing sponsors to the Blue Sox and fans into the ballpark

     - Assist the game day volunteers in the box office

     - Collect data and survey's from fans both in and away from the ball park to help generate interest in the organization

     - Various Game Day tasks as assigned

The Public Address Announcer will be the in-game voice for all home games. Prepared to work nights, weekends and holidays.
A student currently enrolled in at least  a two-year institution. The applicant should have very strong public speaking skills, a detailed knowledge of sports and a feel comfortable performing in front of large crowds.
• Must be passionate about sports.
• Create graphic content received from the administration in a timely and professional manner. Including starting line-ups, all game actions, sponsorship announcements, game contests, etc. 
• Assist in the management of office staff to optimize the talents, skills and time of each other.
• Value the multiple demographics and their prefered communication platforms while consistently upholding Blue Sox visual standards.
• Always be sensitive in my dealings with other personnel, visitors, and students, so that all are treated in a respectful, professional, and humane manner.
• Be respectful of and sensitive to the rights, responsibilities and duties of others, and respectful of the human rights of all racial, ethnic, and religious groups, including but not limited to protected groups as defined by state statute.
• Maintain professional level of conduct and interaction with other staff so that staff dissension is minimized.
• Maintain control and composure during difficult and stressful situations to instill a calming effect on others.
• Physical requirements (e.g. lifting and carrying equipment and materials, etc.)
• Understand that you are part of our team and are repsonible to adhere to all Blue Sox regulations.
